Are there any differences in the scores of Life Orientation among adolescents who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

Are there any Gender differences  in scores of Concentration, life orientation  and Motivation among adolescence who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

Is there any relationship between scores motivation ,life orientation and concentration among adolescence who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

Aim

To study the differences in  motivation, concentration and life orientation among adolescence preparing for professional courses.

Objectives

To study differences in the levels of concentration among adolescents  who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

To study  differences in the levels of motivation among adolescents  who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

To study  differences in the levels of life orientation among adolescents  who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses

To study gender differences  Concentration, life orientation  and Motivation among adolescence who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

To study relationship between Motivation ,life orientation and Concentration among adolescence who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses

Hypothesis

HO1-There are differences SRT1 in the levels of concentration among adolescents  who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

HO2-There are differences in the levels of motivation among adolescents  who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

HO3-There are differences in the levels of life orientation among adolescents  who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses

HO4-There are gender differences in levels  Concentration, life orientation  and Motivation among adolescence who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

HO5- There is relationship between Motivation ,life orientation and Concentration among adolescence who have taken voluntary decisions to enroll and those who are asked by the parents to enroll for preparing for professional courses.

Methodology

Research design

The research design will be non experimental cross sectional correlation survey design. Non experimental studies are those studies when a researcher cannot control or alter the predictor variable or subjects, but instead relies on interpretation.SRT2  A cross-sectional survey collects data to make inferences about a population of interest (universe) at one point in time. Cross-sectional surveys have been described as snapshots of the populations about which they gather data. Cross-sectional surveys may be repeated periodically; however, in a repeated cross-sectional survey, respondents to the survey at one point in time are not intentionally sampled again, although a respondent to one administration of the survey could be randomly selected for a subsequent one. (Lavrakas, 2008)

Variables

Independent variables-

1.      Decision making criterion

2.      gender

Dependent variables-

1.      Motivation,

2.       concentration

3.      life orientation.

Operational definations

Motivation-  Motivation is desire or want that energizes and directs goal-oriented behavior like getting good marks for entance exams.

Life orientation-Life orientation means our attitude towards future. It could be optimistic and pessimistic. Optimistic  people  expect good things to happen to them; pessimistic  people who expect bad things to happen to them.

Concentration- Concentration is the ability to intentionally sustain and shift one’s attention while minimizing involuntary shifts of attention. In particular, sustaining attention is the ability

to maintain one’s attention on an object despite internal and external stimuli distraction.

SRT4 Sample

Sample description- The sample will consist of adolescence  studying  in grade 11th preparing for professional courses in science streamSRT5 .

Sample size- Sample size will consist of students of class 11th(N=120, M=60,F=60) of age group 15 to 17 years

Sampling method- Convinience sampling method will be used. onvenience sampling (also known as availability sampling) is a specific type of non-probability sampling method that relies on data collection from population members who are conveniently available to participate in study. Convenience sampling is a type of sampling where the first available primary data source will be used for the research without additional requirements.(Berk,1991)

Inclusion and Exclusion criterion

Inclusion

1.      Students studying in 11th standard.

2.      Students who have chosen science as a stream

3.      Students who are preparing for professional courses such medicaland engineering SRT6 .

Exclusion

1.      Students who are from other stream such as arts and commerce.

2.      Student who are not preparing for any professional course.

3.      Students with physical/mental disabilities

4.      Students who cannot read in English

SRT1If your previous studies show a significant relationship between the variables you can use a research hypothesis or may have a null hypothesis instead.

SRT2Explain a little more on cross sectional research design with citations.

 SRT3

SRT4This has to be based on the definition given by the tool of the study. Citations needed to be included.
